Calibre 8.10 has been released today as the latest stable version of this open-source, free, and cross-platform e-book management software for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows systems.
Coming two weeks after Calibre 8.9, the Calibre 8.10 release is here with improvements to the Kindle MTP driver by fixing an issue where APNX files are being placed in the wrong location when books are sent to subfolders inside the root folder.
This release also improves the generic MTP driver by allowing the creation of format-specific destinations for audiobook files, as well as the Book List feature by allowing users to control the tooltips displayed for every column using a template via the “Define tooltip template” right-click column header option.
On top of that, Calibre 8.10 adds support for searching keyboard shortcuts by shortcut and by name in the Preferences > Keyboard settings, and improves the Harvard Business Review and Outlook Magazine news sources.
There are also a couple of regression fixes in this release, one affecting the Read Aloud feature in the E-book viewer that broke changing voices when the engine was set to ‘Automatically select’, and one that broke Calibre’s markdown output.
Check out the release notes for more details about the changes included in Calibre 8.10, which you can download right now from the official website as a ready-to-use binary for 64-bit and ARM64 (AArch64) Linux systems. You can also install Calibre as a Flatpak app from Flathub.
