The monthly KDE Frameworks updates continue with KDE Frameworks 6.19, released today by the KDE Project as a companion to the latest KDE Plasma 6.4.5 desktop environment and KDE Gear 25.08.2 software suite.
KDE Frameworks 6.19 fixes the “Delete oldest files from the trash” option for how to handle a full trash, fixes an issue that made Plasma System Monitor render graphs when not visible, and fixes an issue that made it impossible to paste text containing “file:///” into a Sticky Note widget.
This release also fixes a case where Plasma would crash when displaying certain malformed themes, adds RTL (Right-to-Left) versions of microphone and audio icons in the Breeze icon theme, improves 7z support in the KArchive archive manager, and updates the holiday file for Italy in the KHolidays library.
It also fixes Android notifications (with reply intents) for API 34+ in KNotifications, adds a missing parameter “dir” to kpackage_generate_appstream_metadata in KPackage, fixes the handling of symlinks for hunspell dicts in the Sonnet spell checking library, and improves Wayland support in the KWindowSystem component.
Last but not least, KDE Frameworks 6.19 improves syntax highlighting with an initial syntax highlighting definition for Quarto, XKeyboardConfig (XKB) syntax highlighting, and KDE syntax file for SPARQL highlighting. Check out the release announcement page for more details about the changes included in KDE Frameworks 6.19.
Meanwhile, keep an eye on the stable software repositories of your favorite GNU/Linux distribution for the KDE Frameworks 6.19 packages and update your installations as soon as possible, especially if you’re using the KDE Plasma desktop environment or KDE applications.
