The KDE Project released today KDE Gear 25.08.2 as the second maintenance update to the latest KDE Gear 25.08 open-source software suite series to address various issues in your favorite KDE apps.
Coming a month after KDE Gear 25.08.1, the KDE Gear 25.08.2 release adds support for sending thumbnails when uploading videos to NeoChat, support for uppercase keysyms for the portal input to KDE Connect, and support for x-scheme-handler/feed in mimetype to Akregator.
KDE Itinerary has been updated to handle funiculars and aerial lifts in journey searches and support for initially positioning the journey result view at the end for arrival searches. KAlarm received a fix for an infinite loop that occurred when alarms trigger if read-only or the calendar is non-writable.
The Tokodon client for Mastodon received a fix for the vertical alignment of page titles when using custom emoji and updated push notifications to be more reliable. The Merkuro calendar app received a fix for an issue where adding sub-items to tasks was not working.
KDE Gear 25.08.2 also updates the kpublictransport library to use MOTIS 2.5.0 location country codes when present, use updated Transitous coverage data from the Transport API Repository, handle additional transit modes added in MOTIS 2.0.76, and parse timezone information from MOTIS 2.3.
Apps like Alligator, AudioTube, Kamoso, KBackup, KClock, KDevelop, Keysmith, Kongress, KWeather, as well as related libraries or other components, have also been updated in this release, so check out the full changelog for more details.
